ABOUT EUGENE DEWITT KINLOW

My desire to work in this field stems from my overall creative nature and ability to a think a different way while still getting my message across. In my time as an intern for The Washington informer TV show and newspaper my duties often required a great deal of organizational skills. I was in charge of cataloging the TV show, as well as setting up guests and doing research on new topics and issues for the shows’ host. In my last internship as the web design/marketing intern at The Emily Post Institute, I worked on a wordpress web-building interface. My tasks included updating and maintaining their online forum and encyclopedia daily. As an Asian studies major with a concentration in international business and Chinese culture, I have developed a passion and expertise in research and analysis of trends. Combining this with my proficiency in Mandarin writing and speaking, I will be able to analyze and create creative seasonal campaigns and promotions. While I lived in China for 8 months I wrote a journal for the Asian studies program at UVM. This journal focused on the changes in modern society and modern culture from different perspectives. I have a strong overall knowledge of new and recent social media, and while I was in China I began using Chinese Social networking sites such as Weibo or Wechat. I am an active user of both Western and Chinese social networking sites, using them for both promotional and recreational means. I am a very outgoing person and hold building relationships and connections as a very important part of life. To be part of a team or leading a team for me is a growing process, which focuses on knowing the proper time, skill and action needed for situations. The feeling of accomplishment when leading a team and seeing a project from beginning to end is just great for me, I take pride in doing a good job and pushing others to want to do better.
