About Albert E. Smith
I am the Founder and Principal Consultant of en masse Consulting, a boutique firm dedicated to driving meaningful change through expertise in inclusion, diversity, equity, accessibility, and social justice (IDEAS), as well as organizational strategy, and artist and talent development and management.Over the past 20 years, I\'ve held senior leadership roles in Fortune 500 companies, federal agencies, and global nonprofits, where I\'ve consistently delivered results at scale. At Capital One, I built the company\'s first enterprise-wide Business Resource Group and Associate Enablement strategy, aligning 12 BRGs and more than associates. I also spearheaded the adoption of Telskope, a global ERG platform that saves $75k annually and gives back people hours by streamlining operations.Earlier in my career at Chemonics International, I led initiatives that increased Black leadership representation by 130% within one year, boosted supplier diversity spending by 30%, and expanded community-based partnerships by 60%. At the National Institutes of Health, I was the inaugural Sexual and Gender Minority Portfolio Strategist, served on the inaugural committee to establish the Sexual and Gender Minority Research Office, and co-authored the agency\'s first SGM Health Research Strategic Plan, work that continues to inform national research and policy today. What drives me - whether through consulting, executive advising, or coaching - is the opportunity to create systemic change. I believe inclusion isn\'t just a value; it\'s a business imperative that fuels innovation, engagement, and long-term success.
