About Edith Pickens

Edith Pickens is an education leader with over three decades of experience in instructional leadership, administration, counseling and teaching. Mrs. Pickens works as an academic consultant assisting organizations and school districts with creating strategic plans that foster innovation. Areas of expertise and experience include: Leadership Development, Innovation and Technology Integration, School District Organization and Strategic Planning, Creating Positive School Cultures, Federal Desegregation, Positive Communications Plans, Facilities Planning.Prior to retiring from public education, Mrs. Pickens served in school districts in Alabama, California, North Carolina and Georgia. She has served as Director of Strategy and Innovation, Director of Secondary Programs, Director of Elementary Education, Manager of Professional Development, Principal, Assistant Principal, Counselor and Teacher. One of her greatest joys is seeing former students, parents of students and colleagues in the community and hearing about their successes. Transforming Education through Technology Journal (THE) named Pickens one of five \"THE 2007 Innovators.\" She also is a recipient of the Marbury Technology Innovation Award.
