About Edward Hengtgen
I have spent the past thirty-six years designing creative solutions for healthcare challenges. I have been involved in over 3,500 healthcare projects, encompassing all aspects of healthcare design, including replacement hospitals, rehabilitation hospitals, ambulatory care centers/outpatient surgery centers, outpatient treatment facilities, diagnostic centers, obstetrics/LDRP suites, medical malls, professional/medical office buildings, and research buildings. I have developed an intimate working knowledge of every hospital department, from administration to emergency, surgery, laboratories, nursing units, intensive coronary care, nuclear medicine, and central energy plants.I am now moving on to the next phase of my professional journey. I recently joined NeutralPoint Architects, allowing me to refocus on my passion for healthcare design. My experience managing an architectural office for over 15 years and working as AVP of Design/Construction for a large medical/education campus has equipped me with the skills to collaborate closely with healthcare providers and their patients. I specialize in Project Programming, Clinical Planning, Design, and Space Planning. My experience, leadership, and design and planning abilities enable me to advance our clients\' goals with facility expansion projects, quality care initiatives, design standardization, and safe design for staff and patients.I am a licensed Architect in the State of Florida, LEED Accredited by the USGBC, and have obtained my Evidence-Based Design Accreditation and Certification.My specialties include Healthcare Design and Planning, Guidelines for Health Care Design, Florida Building Codes, and ADA requirements.
