About Edgar Rivera
I was at my retirement a Procurement Practice Specialist, IT / Telecom under the Accenture Operations organization, contributing to maximizing the amount of spend our customers incur in the IT practice. This frequently leads to savings initiatives, which improved the bottom-line income for the customer. During my tenure at Accenture, I worked with various clients, from pharmaceutical to consumer goods to communication entities. The Market Intelligence available at Accenture was a resource I was able to tap into, to further the sourcing opportunities, with the ultimate benefit of increased savings for customers. Prior to my last work at Accenture, I had approximately 20 years of Procurement / IT experience, of these, five years with Westinghouse / ABB in Procurement, eight years with a computer desktop/laptop manufacturer serving the Federal Government in charge of Procurement and Sales, three years while working with various technologies related firms, six years working with Procurian; 15 of those years in the computer industry. My background as a previous Management Representative and Lead Internal Auditor for ISO 900X standards was also invaluable in my participation in restructuring processes and procedures during my career. I attended the Inter American University, where I earned a degree in Business Administration. I now enjoy reading, and I also greatly enjoy playing billiards.
