MD specialist in perinatal medicine and MSc in Clinical trials. • My broad clinical care experience in both public and private hospitals in Argentina, as well as my clinical and research based work in many hospitals in the US, Europe and Latin America has provided me with a deep understanding of how different international health systems function (public, HMOs and private). • As PI of investigator-initiated research, I have acquired the organizational and implementation skills required to successfully carry out the different components of a clinical study (e.g. site selection, patient recruitment strategies, budget management, investigators training and supervision) not only in my country, Argentina, but also in others, such as Chile, Peru, Italy and the US. • As Site PI for NIH and Pharmaceutical Industry sponsored studies, I have worked with high quality standards. • I am experienced in the coordination of the multiple components of clinical research including the logistical aspects, in particular, customs procedures, regulatory agency compliance, insurance contracts, sample transportation and drug management. • In recent years I have focused on refining my research skills. My interest and expertise in this field stems directly from the key roles I have participated in such as: site selection, feasibility evaluation, capacity building in different sites, as well as, data management, regulatory affairs and project management at the coordination center. • As executive director of an NGO, which evolved into a real site monitoring organization (SMO), I have developed and acquired managerial skills, which have greatly furthered my research experience and provided me with integrated vision of the clinical research process. • More recently I was able to apply my cumulated experience by collaborating as a research consultant at different international academic centers; mainly on protocol design and implementation, grant applications and publications.
