ABOUT EDGARD RODRIGUEZ
Senior program specialist and economist with extensive experience advancing trade and economic development, enterprise growth, and public policy learning across Asia and Latin America. My work focuses on strengthening the links between research, policy, and practice to support inclusive growth, labour market development, and effective economic governance. I bring more than a decade of experience designing and managing multi-country initiatives that build the capacity of policy research institutions, universities, and think tanks to generate high-quality evidence for policymaking. My expertise spans policy analysis, program evaluation, technical assistance, and institutional capacity building, with particular attention to small enterprise development, trade-related economic transformation, and labour markets. I led the Knowledge for Democracy Myanmar (K4DM.ca) Initiative for nearly a decade, supporting partnerships among research institutions and policy actors across Asia to strengthen evidence-informed economic and social policy. Through this work, I collaborated with universities, think tanks, and policy networks across Bangladesh, Cambodia, China, India, Indonesia, Myanmar, Philippines, Sri Lanka, Thailand, and Vietnam, helping develop the next generation of policy researchers and thought leaders. My professional focus sits at the intersection of economic policy, governance, and knowledge systems—supporting countries to build stronger institutions for policy learning, enterprise development, and inclusive economic growth. I hold a PhD in Economics from the University of Toronto, specializing in economic development and labour economics.
