About Eden Marchese

I am a current 9th Grade ELA Teacher at Frederick Douglass High School. In 2023, I graduated from Fairfield University with a double major degree in English: Creative Writing and Philosophy as well as minors in German, Black Studies, and Peace & Justice Studies. At Fairfield University, I was the Director of Diversity & Inclusion for the Fairfield University Student Association (FUSA) from 20••••23 as well as the 2021-22 Newman Civic Fellow and a Corrigan Scholar for the Class of \'23. All of these positions have greatly helped my wholistic growth through my three years at Fairfield University. In this time, I have also written two novels and am working to edit/publish my newest fiction novel,\"The Mercy of God.\" My work on these projects has helped teach me the value of setting realistic goals for myself while not stopping myself from pushing the best I can achieve in anything that I do. To this end, I was awarded the \"2020 Nicholas M. Rinaldi Fiction Award\" for my short story,\"Crocus,\" as a first year student and have been able to receive the \"2021 Nicholas M. Rinaldi Fiction Award\" for my short story,\"Alien Fingers,\" and the \"English Award\" for nonfiction with my piece \"Devil\'s Smile.\"
