ABOUT EDEL MARRON MCCREESH

I am an optimistic, lateral and holistic thinker, solutions-focused and opportunistic person with an inquisitive mindset and a passion for learning and growth in life and work. I am currently a Lecturer in Management in the Department of Management,Leadership and Marketing within the Ulster Business School, Ulster University. In my past employment, I have lectured in Dundalk Institute of Technology (DKIT) in the areas of Entrepreneurship, Marketing, Organisational Behaviour, Leadership and Management during the 22-23 academic year for undergraduate courses and supervised Masters students. I have been a Course Director and Lecturer in Business Studies/Digital Marketing at the Southern Regional College (SRC) for 7 years from 2016 to 2023 teaching in the areas of Digital Marketing, Advertising, Business strategy, Interpersonal Communications, Brand Management, Organisational Behaviour, Leadership, Entrepreneurship, Research Methods/project from Level 3 to Level 6 as well as to industry. I have also taught as an outreach centre at SRC on the final year Ulster University degree in Entrepreneurship, Total Quality Management, Business Consultancy and Operations Management. I have also worked as a part-time lecturer at Ulster University in Advertising, Marketing, Public Relations, Organisational Behaviour, Organisational/Interpersonal Communication at undergraduate and post-graduate level within Ulster Business School and School of Communication before, during and after completing a PhD from 2007 to 2016. I have also supervised undergraduate dissertations. Simultaneoulsy, I have worked as a marketing consultant on branding and strategic development and product development projects.Whilst studying for a PhD I worked as a consultant for a Ulster University communications consultancy and Ulster University workplace well-being consultancy for clients in the public and private sector.I also engaged in consultancy work for Ulster University on student engagement and branding research projects for clients to include Hospitality Ulster. I hold a PhD in employee engagement and workplace well-being (2014),a Masters in Business Studies (MBS)(2007) and a BSc (Hons) degree in Communication, Advertising and Marketing from Ulster University (2004). After graduating with a degree I also worked within an in-house Marketing department at Grafton Recruitment group, Belfast and PR agency, Pagoda PR, Belfast.
