About Eddie Newell
A year and more has sped by at Elite Beverage International. I guess it is time to explain “Keeper of the Spirit”. It is a title I use out of respect for Douglas Murray, founder of Viña Montes, perhaps the most recognized winery in Chile. Douglas Murray passed away in 2010, but I had the pleasure of spending two weeks with him during harvest 2006. He knew this industry, which we are all blessed to partake of, by nature encompasses some aspects of glitz and glamour and limelight. The counter-side to that was the foundation, structure, processes, the business side required to be successful. In a word, our wonderful industry requires… “balance”. I have tried to take that word “balance” to heart. My set of tools include invaluable experiences in the Wine & Spirits Industry as well as in Fortune 500 companies Disney, Boeing, Albertson’s and Mercedes Benz. I am equally at ease behind a desk, behind a forklift or in front of an audience. Experience in sales at both the retail and wholesale levels. I am comfortable setting up your chart of accounts as I am laying out your warehouse for increased efficiency and effectiveness. I have completed WSET Level 3, WSG French Wine Scholar and Certified Sommelier exams, but in a pinch, I can properly offload a pallet of wine without blinking. Dependable, accountable, responsible, honest and always learning. Balance.
