Assessing the storage potential of the Corsair Trough, which offers the biggest gap in legacy wells anywhere between the shelf edge and the up-dip margin of the Gulf of Mexico.I\'m contributing to a pioneering study evaluating CO₂ storage potential of the Corsair Trough, an underexplored offshore syncline in the GoM. This project addresses the urgent need for scalable CCS solutions by investigating a geologically promising region with minimal legacy well interference—an advantage for long-term containment integrity.My work focuses on integrating sparse geological and geophysical datasets, including well logs, 2D seismic data, and regional analogs, to assess storage capacity, reservoir quality, injectivity, and seal integrity. I support seismic interpretation, pressure modeling, and economic analysis to compare offshore storage feasibility against onshore alternatives burdened by legacy infrastructure. The research also involves regulatory and permitting considerations for Class VI CO₂ injection wells in federal waters.This project contributes to national decarbonization goals by identifying low-risk, high-capacity offshore storage sites and informing future CCS infrastructure development in the Gulf Coast region.
