As a Board Member for Stanislaus County Police Activities League (PAL), I am entrusted with the strategic governance and fiduciary oversight of a critical community organization dedicated to mentoring and empowering local youth. My core function is to ensure the organization\'s mission—to provide proactive recreational, educational, cultural, and social programs for youth ages six through eighteen—is met with fiscal responsibility and ethical standards. This involves active participation in fundraising initiatives, approving the annual budget, and setting high-level policies for an extensive operation that includes over 45 programs and sites across the county, representing a vital cross-section of sports leagues, parks and recreation partnerships, and comprehensive after-school programs. My governance is essential in managing and supporting a significant workforce of close to 500 employees, ensuring their daily efforts successfully reach and make a positive difference in the lives of thousands of children in the Stanislaus community.
