About Eddie Ocampo
With over 25 years of experience in the governmental, not-for-profit, and public sectors, I presently serve as the Director of Public Affairs for Self-Help Enterprises. I bring expertise in strategic planning, relevant community development, state and federal legislation facilitation, government operations, and proven stakeholder outreach and engagement. My goal is to work collaboratively with partners to promote impactful public affairs and policy strategies while fostering meaningful connections between our not-for-profit affordable housing and community development organization, community, philanthropy, state and federal government entities, and housing initiatives. I am dedicated to advancing organizational goals and ensuring that these goals align with Self-Help Enterprises’ mission to improve the lives of the communities that we endeavor to serve in our San Joaquin Valley.

Program Director of the Community Sustainability Department, at Self-Enterprises, with current expertise in organizing and collaborating with rural and low-income communities and schools to identify water and wastewater systems’ needs and solutions, community income survey development and implementation, septic system and groundwater survey implementation, housing survey implementation, preparation of loan and grant applications for water and wastewater project funding, project grant and loan administration, public district formation facilitation, consultant recruitment and compensation negotiation, contract preparation, and training of community board members and staff. His present primary duties include staff management, program and projects’ development, and implementation; coordination of the organization’s community education, engagement, outreach, planning, capacity building, and training programs; coordination of the organization’s Drinking Water for Schools program, which improves access to safe water in rural and disadvantaged communities; and coordination of the Sustainable Energy Solutions program, which connects disadvantaged communities with resources that facilitate access to affordable energy and clean transportation infrastructure. Hired by Self-Help Enterprises’ Community Development Department in 2012; he has also served in the capacity of an Assistant Program Director, Community Development Manager, and Community Development Specialist. Other relevant qualifications and experience include data analysis, collection, and reporting.
