About Ed Applegate

Accomplished accounting and risk management executive with late stage VC, PE and public company transaction experience through various roles at EY, MorganFranklin and Riveron in the DC region. Recent transactions include carve-outs, recapitalizations, M&A, IPOs and high-yield debt offerings in industries including hospitality, government contracting, professional services and manufacturing in the US and Mexico. Key advisor to the CFO and executive team through public market transactions with emphasis on the “book” and a key interface with all parties to the transaction. In addition to executing transactions, Ed has lead various technical accounting and risk management engagements involving enterprise, IT, financial and operational risks and has implemented risk and control programs for companies of all sizes. Recent operational experience includes building a corporate accounting organization (consolidations, financial reporting, technical accounting, SOX, global statutory reporting, new ERP system) and subsequently running world-wide accounting operations as interim controller for a public solar and wind energy company. Most recently responsible for integration of three companies into a single instance of CostPoint and the formation and operation of a shared services accounting organization. Responsible for outsourced tax function and coordination of successful annual financial audits. Led inbound diligence responses for accounting and tax from multiple parties and supported external sell-side quality of earnings review for recent successful sale of Dovel.
