ABOUT ED AMORIM

Ed Amorim, MD is a critical care neurologist and Director of the Epilepsy and Clinical Neurophysiology Service at the Zuckerberg San Francisco General Hospital. He is an Assistant Professor of Neurology at the University of California, San Francisco and his research laboratory focuses on quantitative non-invasive and invasive brain monitoring in critical care. Dr. Amorim completed fellowship training in neurocritical care and epilepsy at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Brigham and Women\'s Hospital (Harvard Medical School), followed by postdoctoral training in machine learning and human neurophysiology at the Massachusetts General Hospital and Massachusetts Institute of Technology. Dr. Amorim’s research focuses on data analytics of non-invasive and invasive EEG and integration of multimodal bio-signals time-series to neuroimaging and EHR data. He has particular interest in biomarker development for neurological recovery from acute brain injury and coma. Dr. Amorim\'s research has been recognized with several awards and continuous extramural funding from national and international organizations.
