About Ed Addison

Over four decades, I have founded and led five AI-driven companies, serving as CEO and Chairman across healthcare and enterprise technology. Those operating years shaped how I approach capital discipline, product-market timing, and building durable value in complex technical environments.Today, I work at the intersection of enterprise AI strategy and multi-agent systems—helping organizations move from pilots to production and redesign how work gets done. AI is not a tooling layer; it is infrastructure. Effective deployment requires governance architecture, operating model redesign, and alignment at the executive and board level.I focus particularly on multi-agent systems as the next evolution of enterprise AI—coordinating intelligent agents, human workflows, and enterprise systems into scalable, governed operating environments.I serve as Professor of the Practice in Engineering Management at North Carolina State University, where I teach AI strategy and the management of AI-native enterprises. I am an AI-150 honoree and a Founding Board Member of the American Society for Artificial Intelligence.I selectively advise private equity, biotech, and enterprise leadership teams on AI transformation and institutional AI governance. My work centers on translating technical capability into enterprise value through disciplined execution and system-level design.Outside of work, I am a jazz pianist and a grateful grandfather—reminders that innovation is most meaningful when it serves something larger.
