ABOUT ED WHITTINGHAM

Ed Whittingham is a passionate, results-oriented environmental professional. His background in climate change, energy policy and corporate sustainability has been developed through 20 years of working collaboratively with companies, governments, universities and non-governmental organizations in Canada and internationally. Ed is the former executive director of the Pembina Institute, Canada’s widely respected energy/environment NGO. He is also a past director of the Alberta Energy Regulator, a past member of both the World Economic Forum\'s Global Agenda Council on the Future of Oil and Gas and Royal Dutch Shell’s External Review Committee, and past co-chair of the Canadian Roundtable on the Green Economy in Québec City and the Government of Alberta\'s oil and gas technical roundtable. In 2016 Ed was named one of Alberta’s 50 Most Influential People. He has been profiled in The Globe and Mail, The Financial Post, The Narwhal, The Walrus, Alberta Venture, Oilweek Magazine and York U Magazine. As an author on energy and environment issues his op-eds have been published in newspapers and magazines across Canada and internationally, including The Globe and Mail, The Vancouver Sun, The Edmonton Journal, The Montreal Gazette, The Calgary Herald, The Hill Times, Oilsands Review, and The Petroleum Economist. As a media commentator Ed has been interviewed on broadcast outlets such as BNN, CTV, Global and various CBC television and radio programs including “The National,” “The House,” \"The Current\" and “As It Happens.” He is also a highly experienced public speaker, with roughly 200 speaking engagements in Canada and the United States in the past decade under his belt.
