About Ed Weinstein
Architect Ed Weinstein is the founding principal and design lead of Weinstein AU Architects and Urban Designers. Under his design direction, the firm’s award-wining portfolio has expanded to include many significant civic, community, mixed-use, and non-profit projects. Known as a creative and astute problem solver, Weinstein’s design talent has been recognized regionally and nationally. In 1993, he was inducted into the prestigious American Institute of Architects (AIA) College of Fellows. In 2011, Weinstein received the AIA Seattle Medal of Honor, the region’s highest recognition for lifetime achievement in architecture. Commissions of note include the City of Seattle West Police Precinct, Fire Station 10 and 6, as well as the William K. Nakamura U.S. Federal Courthouse, Kenmore Library, Kenmore City Hall, Rainier Valley Boys and Girls Club, Banner Building, and New Holly (redevelopment). Weinstein has served on numerous AIA regional and national design juries. He was also a member and chair of the Seattle Design Commission.
