Actively seeking employment in the management of R&D programs preferably in the Life Sciences sector. Experience includes-Strategic planning at the C-level -Portfolio/Program Management -Contract/Grant Management -Operations Management -Faculty/Staff mentoring -Business Development -Technology transition/commercialization, scale-up and mass production -Connecting academic researchers to government and industry experts -Assistant Director of Technology, Office of the Director, NIH/National Cancer Institute -Technical consultant to the Defense Advanced Research Projects Agency (DARPA)-Chief of Staff to Director, DDR & E STEM Development Office -Chief of Staff to the Special Assistant for Technology Transition, DARPA Director’s Office -Initiated and led the University Joint Research Working Group including NC A&T, NCSU, UNC-CH, Duke, and WFU for the purpose of supporting partnerships and multi-disciplinary, multi-university collaborations on advanced research efforts -Led a Life Science Consortium consisting of 20 Life Sciences companies, coordinating strategic planning, business development, and proposal development -Specializing in Sensors, Imaging, Diagnostics, Devices, Micro/Nanotechnology, and Analytics. I have three major areas of experience: 1. Business Development- Identifying Federal Agencies, Program Officers, Programs, and Funding Opportunities, as well as Industrial collaborations. Interfacing with Program Officers to understand current capabilities, problems, and areas where solutions are needed to resolve problems. Assisting with proposal development including; concept, team, proposal writing/review, and letters of support. Operational Management- Including complete (programmatic, financial, administrative, and technical) contract/grant management. Technology Transfer and Commercialization of Products- Identifying prototypes that are ready to scale-up and commercialization to solve problems faced by the government.
