ABOUT ED MEGGITT
Ed leads the Property Dispute Resolution team at Geldards and is also the firm\'s Vice Chairman. Ed\'s main work focus is to help clients manage and protect their property interests. In doing so, Ed will seek to identify and assess the best solutions that can then be implemented through negotiations and/or court proceedings. Ed and his team are consistently top ranked in Wales by Chambers & Partners Directory and Legal 500. Ed is also the only Property Disputes lawyer in Wales to currently feature in the Legal 500 Hall of Fame. Ed\'s particular areas of specialism fall into three broad categories. First, helping portfolio clients with their estate management and the protection of their assets in sectors such as retail, leisure retail, industrial, public sector and marine. Secondly, in resolving isolated disputes for owner-occupiers, landowners, developers, commercial landlords or tenants. These can include dilapidations disputes at the end of the lease; problems arising from property related transactions including professional negligence and enforcement of covenants or obligations; disputes arising either from development related or occupational issues due to nuisance, negligence, trespass and easement/access disputes.Thirdly, Ed has vast expertise in advising utility companies and, in particular, on all property related issues arising in the water industry including the protection of assets and infrastructure either using common law remedies or under the Water Industry Act 1991.Ed has represented clients in a variety of forums including Magistrates Court, County Court, High Court, Court of Appeal, House of Lords, Supreme Court and at Mediation. Ed is a member of the Property Litigation Association and former committee member of the Wales and South West branch.
