ABOUT ED MCPHERSON
For 41 years, founding partner and trial lawyer Edwin F. McPherson has been protecting artists, entertainers, athletes, and businesses. He is licensed to practice law in California, New York, Massachusetts, and Hawaii. He handles all phases of complex entertainment, sports, and business litigation, including copyright and trademark infringement; management/artist disputes; right of publicity and right of privacy; harassment/stalking restraining orders; defamation; record production and distribution; music publishing; motion picture and television production and distribution; breach of implied contract, net profits, unfair competition, insurance coverage and bad faith; legal malpractice; and general civil litigation.After his tenure with Cooper, Epstein & Hurewitz and Lavely & Singer, Ed started his own firm in 1991 as McPherson & Associates, now known as McPherson LLP. Ed lends his legal expertise to publications such as the Los Angeles Times, Billboard, The Wall Street Journal, Bloomberg News, and numerous others. He has often been featured on many television programs, including Good Morning America, Larry King Live, and the Today Show, among others. In addition, Ed has served as a consultant and expert witness on the entertainment industry in general, and specifically on agent/artist relations and manager/artist relations, including California’s Talent Agencies Act, about which he has also written numerous articles and spoken on many panels.Ed has been named among Billboard Magazine’s \"Top Music Lawyers\" for 2020, 2021, and 2022, and previously Billboard\'s \"50 Attorneys of Note in the Music Biz.\" He was also included in the Los Angeles Daily Journal’s California’s Top Entertainment Lawyers. In addition, he has been named to Southern California’s Super Lawyers for fifteen consecutive years. Ed has also received an AV Preeminent rating from Martindale-Hubbell for as long as that rating has been given.
