ABOUT ED MACNAMARA

Ed is a partner in PwC\'s restructuring practice with c.30 years’ experience carrying out strategic and financial business reviews, undertaking multi-stakeholder restructurings, providing other advisory services and taking insolvency appointments.He has been involved in a wide variety of industries, crisis situations and international business settings. He has worked on assignments with substantial operations in UK, parts of Western, Central and Eastern Europe, North America and Africa.Between 20••••03, Ed worked in North America leading various restructuring and turnaround assignments across a number of industry sectors (including steel, consumer goods, media and retail), and being involved in Chapter 11 and CCAA processes.Between 20••••18, Ed co-led PwC\'s Restructuring, Refinancing & Insolvency practice in Central & Eastern Europe and CIS region.Ed is one of the Administrators of Lehman Brothers and has been heavily involved in the insolvency over the 15+ years. He is also the Receiver of O.W.Bunker which collapsed following a major fraud and has helped collect the receivables book of c.US$1bn, is the Administrator of certain Travelex companies and has spent significant time in the Bahamas unravelling the issues following the collapse of FTX. Ed has also supported a UK bank in dealing with its significant capital shortfall; set up the Russian bad bank involving the consolidation of four banks; provided valuation and strategic advice to the liquidator of an Eastern European bank; prepared resolution plans for two Caribbean banks with significant NPL portfolios; and worked with the IMF to assess related party loans and transactions in an emerging economy. His work in the Financial Services sector has involved advising banks, regulators and governments.He has also advised the lenders to a global steel group; assisted the management team of a UK listed retailer; provided restructuring advice to creditors of a large European shipbuilder; provided restructuring advice to the lending syndicate of a large European agribusiness and over the last few years has advised on various English Schemes and Restructuring Plans.
