About Ed Kriner

I have experience in servicing and maintaining Large Nuclear Steam Turbo Generators and Generator Support Systems.Most of my recent experience has been on GE water cooled 1200 MWe machines. Specifics include material condition assessments during scheduled and forced outages.I am also familiar with Hydrogen Seal oil systems, Stator coolant systems, Alignment (Train and segmented), Alterrex excitation systems.I support Maintenence efforts on FairBanks Morse 12 cylinder OP 8-1/8 Blower-Turbo scavenged Diesel engines used for reliable back-up power.My specialty is what I call \"Engineering from the front line\". Because of my connection with the workforce, I am able to hear their wisdom as they are holding the broken parts in their hands. This interaction with the working levels combined with a high level of corporate interaction with my Corporate peers, brings a unique level of solutions to the field work that has been my personal success. I have a firm grasp on the sciences and interact well with people.As Dr. Marsicano guided us at Penn State. Your mission is bring the science to the people and make it work for a better society\".I also serve as a Technical Mentor for engineering and craft interns during their tour of education at Limerick Station. I would like to think the interns have seen and experienced some pretty unique engineering applications. I run a series of workshops which are practical and show the interns how our engineering work force and our craft work force work closely together to acheive what each of us could not do alone. So far feedback has been [mostly] favorable.Specialties: Drawing - I have an amazing ability to illustrate ideas for work packages and procedures.I work with craftsmen that really prefer drawings over written words so I learned to draw.Persistance - I don\'t give up easy. If you ever particiapated in a Root Cause Investigation with me, you have seen first hand how thorough I am.Leadership - I am able to lead people who I do NOT have the direct power of the pen over. This means they believe in me. Its easy to lead when your the boss.
