On May 4th, 20201 Ed was appointed Chief Executive Officer at Chelan Fruit Cooperative by the Board of Directors as a result of the CEO announcing he was stepping down due to recent diagnosed health issues. Ed was serving on the board as an Advisory Director at the time of the appointment and is familiar with he company and activities. His experience as a CEO spanning over 25 years will enable him to quickly integrate into the company with minimal disruption. I led the OCG management team in evaluating every department within the company, its business model, inventories, product offerings, customer base, board proficiency and membership. Subsequent strategic plans and execution resulted in a transformation of the company to be competitive, profitable and sustainable. A significant challenge during the transformation was balancing the financial improvement of the company and grower owner needs. All growth and use of cash within the company was generated solely from profitability.
