About Ed Jacobus

Actively seeking work in environmental restoration & preservation, with a particular focus on rewilding land 🦬, sea 🦪, and air 🦅. Also greening our cities. I am particularly drawn to water: streams, rivers, floodplains, wetlands, estuaries, and the sea.I am studying ArcGIS and intend to work with it professionally in the environmental fields — particularly Rewilding. My professional history is in cartography for the publishing industry (Adobe Illustrator & InDesign).Portfolios available on request:1) Résumé.2) Professional cartography portfolio.(18 pages)3) Planning maps I made for The Pequest River Project. I did not include these maps in the abridged Pequest River presentation (below).(11 pages)4) The Pequest River Project. An abridged adaptation of a project I created documenting a small river in northwest New Jersey. This is a selection from a much larger project that I did for my degree in Ecological design. It is composed primarily of photos with captions (one per page).(58 pages)5) Shopfronts of the East Village. A personal project on my long-time Manhattan neighborhood — a complete book (unpublished). It is primarily photos with captions (one per page).(120 pages)6) Yestermorrow Campus Master Plan. The Yestermorrow Design /Build School is in Warren/Waitsfield Vermont. This is an exercise I did for my degree. It was not commissioned by Yestermorrow. And Yestermorrow is not school where I got my degree. I wrote this in 2006 and reflects my knowledge at that time. This is primarily a written piece.(43 pages)7) Newtown Creek map. An environmentally focused map of the Newtown Creek Superfund Site in Brooklyn/Queens New York that I created for NCA.
