About Ed Grubach

I am a Pharmacist by training and have worked in many diverse areas including pharmaceuticals, hospital, retail, specialty and managed care. I spent almost a decade working with a novel and innovative specialty pharmacy that provided life saving medications to both transplant and HIV/AIDS patients. In this role I counseled and supported many patients with complex medication regimens, managed a team and helped to optimize customer service by reorganizing pharmacy operations into disease state management teams. At the end of my time in this role I was directing retail operations for specialty stores in New York City, Los Angeles and San Francisco. It was the experience of a lifetime and I learned so much about business, the importance of outstanding customer service and how to successfully work with teams. My next venture took me into pharmaceutical sales with Merck as a Medical Science Liaison that transitioned into a cardiovascular sales role that resulted in several top tier awards for performance. I have always been very interested in infectious disease and immunizations and then had the opportunity to move into vaccines and spent eight years (two focused on global medical education) working to launch new products and educate providers about the novel and groundbreaking vaccines Merck has developed. In my most recent assignment I worked as a Health System Account Leader where I engaged senior leaders to create strategic partnerships and projects related to population health and quality initiatives. I served as a quarterback for each account through strong collaboration, communication and coordination with other extended team members and worked to improve patient outcomes that aligned with business goals. I have always had a strong work ethic and have consistently welcomed both new challenges and opportunities. I also believe that if you are curious and willing to learn, you can do anything! My career has been long and diverse and I know that many of my skill sets are transferrable to different career paths. I look forward to the future and am especially interested in new areas such as healthcare technology, pharmacy automation, animal health and medical devices.
