About Ed Dunne

Leader and manager in water quality and natural resource management with 20 years of experience working in academia, non-profit, and government. I am an applied watershed ecologist who focuses on collaborative science-based policies, plans, and practices that improve water quality and natural resources. I have spent 10 of my 20 years of experience leading and serving multidisciplinary teams. I love to lead teams toward achieving water quality goals that provide on-the-ground benefits. Achievements include- rulemaking in Washington D.C. to protect water quality in the Anacostia and Potomac Rivers from 94 pollutants- directing two National Academies consensus-based studies on flooding that provided recommendations to the Federal Emergency Management Agency- managing large-scale constructed and natural wetlands to remove nutrients and sediment from Lake Apopka - publishing peer-reviewed manuscripts that evaluated nature-based solutions to improve water quality
