ABOUT ED DUCKWORTH

I am an enthusiastic, dedicated, and self-directed scientist with a hunger to apply my knowledge of biochemistry and project management to help drive forward drug discovery programmes. I am motivated by a desire to make a difference and have a positive impact on society.I currently work at Pangea Botanica a company focused on accelerating modern drug discovery with nature-inspired science. I work on R&D projects across the early stage pipeline evaluating nature inspired molecules for the use as novel therapeutics. My role requires me to use my scientific knowledge to tackle difficult problems, and deliver data to support compounds progression into the clinic.My previous working career has been spent at KalVista. During my 5 years with the company, I was promoted to Senior Scientist in Biochemistry and built the base for a long successful career in pharmaceuticals. I managed a small team of 3 scientists focused on the biochemical profiling of small molecule serine protease inhibitors to help drive the drug discovery process. I had had a significant role in supporting the progression of compounds from research into development. I regularly contributed towards publications, regulatory filings, and project management.
