ABOUT ANTHONY ECOCK
I help PE firms increase returns on their investments in an ultra-competitive deal environment. I mostly work as a Chairman or Board member and am sometimes available as a part-time operating partner or consultant. My specific areas of expertise are deal diligence, portfolio company value improvement, exit strategy, growth strategy, B2B executive sales and talent management. I have a relatively unique combination of experiences in private equity, Fortune 50 line management and consulting. I joined The Carlyle Group in the $2.4B middle market fund (CEOF II) in 2016. My initial role was to work across deal teams on commercial and operational diligence. In 2018, I took on the role of MD for investments in the healthcare sector. CEOF II made 4 healthcare-related investments, all of which have proven successful. Prior to joining Carlyle, I was a General Partner at Welsh Carson Anderson & Stowe (WCAS) where I started and led the Resources Group, the operating partner team responsible for improving portfolio company results. In 2008, I founded PEOPEN (Private Equity Operating Partner Executive Network). PEOPEN was a global networking group for full-time, on-staff PE operating partners that at its peak had over 500 members. I edited two books for Private Equity International: The Operating Partner in Private Equity Volumes I and II. Prior to entering the private equity world, I had significant line management and consulting experience. In 2003, I started the Enterprise sales organization for GE\'s $18B Healthcare division. Prior to joining GE, I was global GM of Hewlett Packard\'s $700MM Patient Monitoring Division, the market leader in critical care IT. HP was my client and they hired me from Bain & Company where I was a Partner focusing on Healthcare and Technology among other verticals as well as Director of Consultant training. I received a B.S. in Finance and Accounting from the Wharton School with honors and my M.B.A. from Harvard Business School, where I was a Baker Scholar.
