I currently work as a Peer Support Specialist, providing a variety of recovery-oriented services to individuals enrolled in early intervention and transition-age youth programs who have self-identified as desiring peer support. In this role, I promote greater independence, community integration, and recovery. As a Peer Support Specialist, I provide services based on my lived experience with mental health treatment and my state-approved certification in Peer Support. My responsibilities include offering support services, advocacy, and guidance to clients, helping them engage in ongoing treatment while working toward less dependence on traditional mental health treatment. My work acknowledges the importance of incorporating natural supports into a person’s recovery process, recognizing their potential to positively impact overall well-being and long-term success.
