About Emelie Beckman
Current Team Assistant in Data Engagement at the Office for Mine Action and Police (OMAP), United Nations HQ. Graduated from Columbia University with a BA in Human Rights (spec. in Economics), passionate about financing for social impact and data-driven storytelling. Building on past experience in the UN Peace and Security sector and in analytical research, I am assisting with the design of OMAP\'s Data Integration and Visualization Initiative, mapping existing resources, identifying desirable datasets, and developing sustainable recommendations to advance evidence-based communication of Member States\' investments. Originally from Sweden, with experience in human rights research and working in various roles within the social impact sphere at the state, federal, and international levels. My interests lie at the intersection of international relations and finance, focusing on critical issues of visibility, data translation, and impact communication.
