Erich Bublitz is the Senior Vice President and Head of AmTrust Excess & Surplus (E&S). AmTrust E&S is an excess and surplus underwriter of specialty insurance products in the casualty market. AmTrust E&S offers clients a wide range of specialty insurance products through its three primary underwriting platforms: Specialty Primary and Supported Excess, Unsupported Excess, and Contract Binding. Our underwriting teams are biased toward the more complex risks where experience and judgment are critical to success, offering customized solutions and underwriting expertise to meet each insured’s unique challenges. Erich has been featured as a subject matter expert in many industry publications including National Underwriter, Insurance Journal, Carrier Management, Rough Notes, and Business Insurance. He has also spoken on A.M. Best TV, on panels for Insurance Journal, and at the American Bar Association annual meeting. He was an author of the 2012 Data Security and Privacy RPLU training manual and participated as a contributor to the Cyber Crime Study for the United Nations Office of Drugs and Crime. Lastly, he has written Risk Insider columns for Risk & Insurance on various topics in the E&S market. Risk Insiders are an unrivaled group of leading executives focused on sharing insights and opinions on the subject of Risk.Since Erich has been with AmTrust, he has established himself as a respected leader. Prior to AmTrust, he served his 12-year E&S career at a number of “top-tier insurance companies” and specialty MGUs. Prior to his insurance career, Erich spent over a decade in the consulting and auditing industry working for leading accounting and consulting firms. Erich holds a Bachelor’s of Business Administration degree from the University of Kansas. He also holds the CPCU, ARe, and ASLI designations.
