I have to dig at the roots…Ever since I was a little kid, asking a series of questions has been my nature. I’d like to say it was because I was so smart, but I honestly just wanted to persuade my parents for permission. I was tired of that instant “no” every time I asked my parents for things. I learned early on that beginning with the word “why” has more advantages. I became a person who sincerely cares about solving problems. This questioning spirit has lead me to a career of identifying the root cause of any problem. As a Quality Engineer for Lockheed Martin, I have the privilege of solving the world’s most complex challenges that help our customers keep people safe.When I am not working, I am usually spending time with my family and friends, reading books, and binge watching HGTV.    WHAT I DO-Develop and review quality standards, methods, work instructions and procedures for the inspection of manufactured and procured products-Review documentation related to internal and external manufacturing processes to ensure quality products are delivered to the customer-Support Integrated Product Teams and various production sites with reviews of quality data on yields, rework, scrap and non-conformance aging-Analyze and resolve process issues varying from basic to very complex-Attend and lead program corrective action meetings, identify trends, assist in problem resolution and insures responsible parties meet commitments-Participates as an active member of Material Review Boards and Failure Review Boards which includes dispositioning non-conforming hardware, identifying hardware containment requirements, identifying appropriate root cause and corrective action is taken to prevent recurrence-Perform assessments and audits on processes and procedures to ensure compliance to specifications, engineering drawings, procedures and ISO-9001 / AS9100-Evaluate the design assurance activities and implementation of production process methodology to prevent impacts to production velocity and quality-Interface with customers, suppliers and program personnel on quality related issues-Utilize lean initiatives to reduce waste and maintain continuous improvement-Make the final decision on acceptability of product.
