ABOUT EBI GASMNEJAD
I help colleagues understand the why behind every security control, the how of implementing them, and the what of measuring and improving them. For me, security is not about piling on more rules and controls.It is about making sure controls have purpose, are practical to apply, and continuously evolve. Over 15 years in cybersecurity, I’ve moved from penetration testing and hands-on assessments to holistic frameworks like ISO 27001, to implementing security programs end-to-end in startups, and finally to leading multiple security controls implementation and maintenance in different CIOs in one of Europe’s largest banks. This path has given me a perspective that combines deep technical expertise with a focus on what really works at scale. Alongside the technical side, I’ve always been fascinated by human behavior science and organizational culture. Security doesn’t succeed just because controls exist. It succeeds when people understand them, adopt them, and improve them. That’s why I focus on bridging the gap between policy and practice: helping teams see the reason behind requirements, apply them effectively, and use feedback to strengthen them over time. I keep myself sharp by following the latest trends in AI, emerging threats, and new technologies, because yesterday’s defenses rarely solve tomorrow’s problems. At the end of the day, my goal is simple: security that makes sense, works in practice, and grows stronger with culture.
