ABOUT EBENEZER NYENWE
I am passionate about health disparities in our healthcare system, and I created ERBD to handle those disparities. ERBD stands for Electronic Bias Detection, and uses AI to detect bias in Healthcare Records.(1) As a Senior Bioinformatics major at Xavier University of Louisiana, I aspire to explore future career opportunities that combine technological innovation, health equity, and human rights. I am passionate about using computational methods to analyze the genetic structures of cancers and how they change between onset and relapse, as well as developing applications that can help mitigate health disparities.(2) I am currently working as an HBCU Scholar at The White House, where I collaborate with other students and professionals on projects that address the needs and challenges of historically black colleges and universities. I am also an NIH BUILD Research Assistant at The National Institutes of Health, where I contribute to a Cancer Research project. I have improved my Java and Python programming skills, and acquired multiple certifications in XML and JavaScript. I have also presented my research at the Festival of Scholars event at my school, where I won the audience favorite award.(3) I am a motivated learner, a creative thinker, and a team player. I value diversity, inclusion, and social justice, and I seek to apply these principles in my academic and professional endeavors. I have a long list of goals, and I am determined to achieve them all. I look forward to being a helpful asset on future projects, internships, research, and my career at large.
