Performed merit review of applications for tourism grants and business development grants for grocery stores in food deserts. Assisted in the planning and early development of an online portal to assist businesses in getting started and meeting their legal and regulatory requirements. Participated in the process of selecting a vendor to create the portal. Wrote industry sector-specific startup guides for new businesses that focused on their legal and regulatory obligations. Developed a guide to every license issued by the State of Illinois. Identified the statutory and regulatory authority for each license, and organized them by NAICS sector to help businesses plan their licensing and permitting approach. Our goal is to educate and empower small businesses to effectively convey their uniqueconcerns during the rulemaking process.
