Chapter President @United Against Inequities In Disease
Storrs Mansfield, CT, US
Engage undergraduate students in addressing food insecurity in rural northeastern Connecticut. Major accomplishments include creation and operation of a food rescue program to deliver unused meals from public schools to local soup kitchens that saved over 800lbs/year, coordinating the design and administration of an English/Spanish survey of food pantry patrons, and creating a resource awareness pamphlet that was distributed across our 20-town service area in Windham and Tolland counties. Our chapter won the \"Most Community-Driven Project\" award at the 2023 Annual UAID Conference and \"Most Grassroots-Oriented Community Project\" award at the 2024 annual conference.
