ABOUT PAUL EARL

An experienced Information Security Professional. I have worked across multiple sectors, all being long term commitments, gaining extensive knowledge and insight into SABSA, ISMS. ISO27001/2, ITIL,risk management, Governance, compliance and auditing during my career to date. I have expertise in writing and implementing Security Policy documentation aligned with ISO27001 within a risk framework of ISO27005 and NIST 800-30. A CISSP and CCSP in good standing and working towards my CISMA and a member of ISACA London chapter. Other areas of expertise include forensic analysis, producing Investigative reports, security related KPI’s, managing and supporting IPS, AV, Web reporting, AD reports, implementing and project managing Laptop encryption projects and penetration testing. Now working on obtaining ISO27001 accreditation and SIEM solution and implementation. I have a wealth of hands on technical support and staff management experience within the IT arena. A work ethic of loyalty, integrity, dedication and working hard to deliver any project I am involved with. In my current security role I have to balance the organisation functional capabilities as my first priority. I am responsible for delivering the most efficient use of resources whilst maintaining the highest security controls and ensuring delivery is within the security cost budget. I have managed teams of all sizes and always seek to gain their respect and buy-in by working with them. I have gained a lot of management soft skills through my career especially in the Information Security role. Originally trained as an Avionics Electronics Engineer in fault analysis and diagnosis now working in Information Technology where I went from technical support to security management.
