About Eamon Penney
I operate at the intersection of public health implementation and nonprofit governance.Over the past decade, my career has moved deliberately between directing complex humanitarian and domestic operations and strengthening the governance systems that sustain mission-driven institutions. I currently serve on the Board of Directors of Doctors Without Borders USA, where I provide fiduciary oversight and strategic direction for a global medical organization supporting crisis-affected populations worldwide.Earlier in my career, I focused on medical operations including leading advocacy in Myanmar during a period of acute instability, and served as governance operations lead for MSF-USA’s Board of Directors. Working on both sides of the governance table has shaped my approach: principle-driven projects require strong systems.Across roles in humanitarian response, public health, and global health implementation, I focus on translating strategic priorities into disciplined execution — strengthening Board effectiveness, building institutional accountability mechanisms, and enabling executive leadership to focus on the highest-value work.I am particularly interested in governance, strategic initiatives, and executive office roles within mission-driven organizations committed to humanitarian principles and global equity.
