ABOUT EAMON FITZGERALD

I\'m Eamon, co-founder of Cervolve a Montreal based platform-biotech using AI/machine learning approaches to understand and therapeutically leverage whole brain maps of lipid metabolism in neurodegeneration.I started my scientific life as a wet-lab neuroscientist during my PhD at the University of Edinburgh, running everything from behavioural assays to molecular biology, immunohistochemistry, and pharmacology. That hands-on experience with the biology shaped how I think about problems: stay close to the data, trust what the cells are telling you, and never be afraid to get your hands dirty.I did my postdoctoral fellowship at McGill University, where I shifted to using computational neuroscience and multi-omics methods. Across both worlds, I’ve published 10 first-author papers focused on the neurobiology of emotion and depression.I’ve been fortunate to lead major international collaborations, and my approach has always been the same: ask clean, simple questions, then build the clearest path to answer them.Now at Cervolve, I’m bringing these threads together to tackle (what I think is) one of the most overlooked frontiers in brain science: lipid metabolism as a therapeutic pathway in neurodegenerative disease.If you’re interested in neurodegeneration, multi-omics, lipid biology, or AI-driven mechanisms discovery, I’m always keen to connect.
