About Dylan Vu

Portfolio: dylanvu.comHey! I’m Dylan, a software engineer at Amazon One Medical.I love mentoring, answering questions, and providing guidance! Feel free to connect!I graduated as a computer science student at UC Irvine specializing in systems and software. My web development experience is honed through internships at Ansync Labs and One Medical (Amazon) and I hope to use my skills to benefit the medical field and make a difference. My experience is mainly in full-stack web development, specifically with Node.js and TypeScript. But I’m proud of my versatility and knowledge beyond web development, spanning hardware, firmware, mobile apps, and game development. My specialization includes in-depth knowledge of Node.js, TypeScript, ESP32, and expertise in integrating and architecting systems together using technologies like WebSockets for complex real-time communication all across the tech stack, languages, and disciplines of technologies and software engineering. From firmware to software, no matter how complex something is, I’ll piece it together. In college, I spent a lot of time doing hackathons, where I use them as a chance to deepen my skill set. I’ve won prizes at 18 of them, and took home first overall at LA Hacks 2021 and Yale Hacks 2024. During hackathons, I’m the anchor. I take care of the integration, high-level software design, and architecture while navigating across the stack and entire software disciplines ranging from web dev, firmware, hardware, game dev, and mobile dev to pull the most complex projects across the finishline. My ability to quickly grasp new technologies and concepts and immense breadth of technical knowledge—cultivated through almost a thousand hours in fast-paced, high pressure hackathons—is my greatest strength.Currently, I volunteer to mentor at hackathons! I’ve mentored for 23 hackathons for a grand total of 900+ hours!
