Assisting in a 5-year research project funded by the Health Resources and Services Administration and directed by Dr. Edilma Yearwood (Georgetown University). Objectives are to facilitate measurable improvements in health literacy, practice, service delivery, program development, and policymaking in the Washington, DC region to address family and community dynamics and social determinants (FCDSD) contributing to poor health outcomes among children in underserved communities. Methodology includes a) providing education to providers, families, and community organizations on factors affecting child wellbeing and promoting wellbeing, b) advocating for a medical home and pediatric comprehensive child assessments including FCDSD, c) educating families and providers about community resources, and d) increasing children\'s access to health services.
