About Dylan McGuire
I am currently employed as an IoT Embedded Software Engineer for Fortune Brands Water Innovation Group. Working in an agile environment I was the lead firmware engineer on Moen\'s gesture control faucet, writing firmware to interact with the devices sensors as well as the app and cloud.I graduated from Case Western Reserve University where I double majored in computer and electrical engineering and received a minor in history.I was previously employed by Broadcast Sports International, a division of NEP. As a System’s Design Engineer, I have worked to provide wireless video and audio solutions to our customers. During my time I was responsible for the design, BoM creation, installation, and training of end users for a massive, multi-facility wireless audio project for a large news agency. Additionally, I’ve worked on several schematic capture and PCB layout projects, including a wi-fi configured camera controller, which I also wrote the software for. I was previously employed by Ametek\'s Dynamic Fluid Solutions (DFS) division, were I designed, tested and wrote software for their 120- and 240-volt motor controllers. During my time there I designed a standalone board that can be used as an in-rush current limiter for our controllers. I also wrote the speed controller software for their flagship product. Lastly, I obtained my IPC soldering certification.I have previously worked at GE Transportation in their vehicle control department where my main project was the creation of a new crew triggered error button. The goal of this project was to create a new touch screen button that the locomotive crew could press when they believed something was not working correctly, and then the system would gather sensor information and store it for the engineering crew to later look at. I successfully built this project from the ground up, designing and building the entire control circuit & testing it in my short 8 months there, and left with it being handed off to the sales team.In my free time I enjoy exercising (typically in the form of running, biking, and swimming), as well as hiking with my girlfriend and dog. Additionally, I have recently made the poor decision of getting into golf.
