ABOUT DYLAN MATHEW
Hi! I’m Dylan Mathew from Mumbai, India doing my fourth year of mechanical engineering at UBC. I proudly lead the Marine Robotics Club at UBC Okanagan. It allows me to indulge my passion for robotics by exploring Autonomous Underwater Vehicles (AUV). We are currently working on building our second and improved bot for the Robosub 2025 competition! We placed 15th out of 50 teams at Robosub 2024, creating an AUV in under 10 months with a team of 20 members. We have grown to a team of 70 members working on 3 marine-related projects for our second year of operation! In the summer of 2023, I worked as a research assistant at UBC Advanced Materials for Energy Storage (AMES) Lab, exploring biopolymer film-based supercapacitors. I’m working towards efficient and eco-friendly energy storage solutions by merging sustainability and biopolymer technology.
