I’m Dylan Truong, a second-year student at Otterbein University majoring in Criminology & Justice Studies and Sociology. I am passionate about law, advocacy, and community leadership, and I am committed to promoting justice, equity, and meaningful societal impact. I actively engage in leadership and advocacy on campus, fostering diversity, equity, and inclusion through a variety of roles: Orientation Leader – guiding and mentoring new students as they transition to university lifeFounder, Otterbein Asian Community Organization – leading initiatives that celebrate cultural identity and promote cross-cultural understandingSenator, Otterbein University Student Government (OUSG) – representing student interests and contributing to university policy decisionsMember, Black Student Union (BSU) – supporting initiatives that empower and uplift Black studentsAssociate, Office of Social Justice and Advocacy (OSJA) – contributing to programs that advance social justice, equity, and inclusive practices Through these experiences, I have developed skills in leadership, project management, teamwork, public speaking, and community engagement, which I aim to apply in future academic, professional, and legal endeavors. My academic studies in Criminology and Sociology provide a strong foundation in understanding social issues, human behavior, and the justice system. I actively seek opportunities to apply this knowledge in ways that promote justice, equity, and positive change both within and beyond the classroom.I am eager to continue expanding my skills, making meaningful contributions to my community, and preparing for a future in law, policy, and advocacy.
