ABOUT DYLAN M. LYNCH

Dylan works in the lab of Prof. Alessio Ciulli at the University of Dundee, Scotland, where he is identifying small-molecule probes for E3 ligases. He recently returned from a Fulbright scholarship to conduct research at the University of Washington, Seattle. Here, his work under the supervision of Prof. Champak Chatterjee centred on protein-protein interactions, the study of deubiquitylating (DUB) enzymes, and their role in disease.Dylan completed his PhD in organic chemistry at Trinity College Dublin under the supervision of Prof. Eoin M. Scanlan. His PhD focused on the development of novel synthetic methodology for the preparation of glycopeptides as therapeutics, as well as isolation and derivatization of natural glycopeptides. Dylan\'s expertise extends to organic synthesis employing radical chemistry, and the design of peptide/carbohydrate ligation approaches. He has a track-record of engaging in scientific communication through both digital and print media. Dylan has previously worked as a staff writer for Trinity News for 9 months, and was elected as the science and technology editor for 1 year also. Throughout his undergraduate studies, Dylan worked as a mediator at Science Gallery Dublin, where he developed a unique set of scientific communication skills by conversing with the public about novel research and ideas presented in an accessible exhibition space.
