I dismantle criminal networks by cutting off their financial lifelines and exposing their business models. My work sits at the crossroads of AI, sustainability, forensic finance, and supply-chain forensics, exposing how illicit trade moves money, not just goods. My first platform, Spyglass.fish proved that technology could outpace traffickers, and that intelligence increased compliance and reduced patrolling costs. Since then, I’ve developed next-gen tools to trace criminal risk in real time, trained law enforcement and reporters worldwide, and built frameworks that turn compliance into a weapon (in a good way). My methods have been featured in MIT Technology Review and Smithsonian Magazine for redefining how we track crime from its inception to its profits, and granted me a spot on the TED stage, and a Pew Marine Fellowship to fight maritime crime.This isn’t about policing. It’s about systemic disruption, using data to bankrupt illegal operations before they reach consumers or the people that profit from them. My systems expose financial and ESG risks hiding in global supply chains, the kind that surface too late, in headlines or regulatory fines. The data doesn’t lie: From seafood to minerals, illicit trade launders risk through legitimate commerce and an innocent looking company can be a façade for a criminal organization. My frameworks turn that visibility into action. As a Pew Fellow and TED Speaker, I push beyond algorithms to reshape who controls the narrative: through mentoring underrepresented scientists, founding Poplar & Ivy magazine, and proving that the best crime-fighting tools also demand equity. 100+ peer-reviewed papers and book chapters. 100+ trained enforcement teams.
