ABOUT DAVID W. CONRAD

Currently leading Operations for a portfolio of companies owned by Validor Capital and serving as GM for one of those companies, since Sep 2021. Previously completed a 3 year term with International Wire Group as Vice President of Operations for their High Performance Conductors division (Commercial and Operations P&L responsibility, Private Equity ownership). In this 3 year period, our team used an accelerated strategy execution program to drive HPC’s record levels of Safety, Quality Service and EBITDA – all amid a 40% reduction in volume as a result of the COVID-19 pandemic. Primary drivers of EBITDA improvement were related a 25% reduction in Scrap Rates, a 20% improvement in Direct Labor productivity and a 30% reduction in variable and fixed overhead costs. In the 15 years prior to High Performance Conductors, I led similar turnaround results for divisions and plants of Saint-Gobain, Regal Beloit Corporation and Rockwell Automation (aka Reliance Electric, Baldor, ABB Group NA). I have also provided Engineering, Lean Six Sigma and Operations strategy consulting services for several privately owned organizations. Background: Started in Product Design Engineering and armed with Master’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering (MSME), Shifted directions mid-career into Lean Enterprise Transformations at the manufacturing plant level. Successful in the practical aspects of driving change, revenue growth and improvement in today’s manufacturing environment while also ensuring world class customer service. Products and Industries: industrial power transmission, electric motors, automotive and marine transmissions, engineered commercial and defense aerospace tools and plated conductor wire.
