Mount Ararat Baptist Church (MABC) believes that God wants his people to create an environment of care. The ministry of this church takes each individual member’s care and the care members’ provide to the city as its top priority. MABC is a 103-year old congregation with a rich history of spiritual leadership in the city along with a strong social advocacy presence. While a predominately African American congregation, Mount Ararat is populated by the cross racial section of the city. All economic brackets are covered and it is one the richest churches in multi-generational presence. Mount Ararat would be described as a mega-church with over eight thousand members.MABC has many categories of ministries including the Music and Fine Arts Ministry. The goal of this ministry is to present excellence in music, drama, dance, sound, and video that would prepare the congregation for the preached word of God. Dwayne Fulton, a native of Pittsburgh, PA, has served as the Minister of Music and Fine Arts since September 2002. Under Dwayne’s leadership, he oversees the entire Fine Arts Department and is also responsible for selecting music for services, training and development of spiritual leaders and participants in the various departments, and managing the operation of the fine arts and its components.

ABOUT DWAYNE FULTON

Dwayne Fulton is a native of Pittsburgh with a Bachelors degree inSociology from the University of Pittsburgh. He has worked in variousbusiness and social structures: from counseling troubled youth andfamilies, academic institutions such as The University of Pittsburgh(Program Coordinator), St. Vincent College (Director of Pathways toSuccess). He currently serves as the Minister of Music/Director of FineArts at The Mt. Ararat Baptist Church.He has produced and co-produced over 7 musical projects moving wellover units to date:* Kingdom People “The Journey” Anita Levels “Heal The Soul” 2006* Mt. Ararat Baptist Church, “Called To Relationship” 2008* Mt. Wood (Country Artist), Scribe (Hip Hop Artist), Margo B.(Pop, also stars in HBO’s Boardwalk Empire), LoRen Knight (Pop), Ed Manion (Jazz, saxophonist for Bruce Springsteen). Dwayne is an accomplished pianist. His music career stems back fromthe eighth grade to the present. He’s had the honor of accompanyingsuch great musicians as Grover Washington, Jr, RogerHumphries, Sean Jones, and Nathan Davis. He’s shared the stagewith other greats such as: Keith Sweat, Guy, Fred Hammond,Bobby Jones, Kirk Franklin, Michael Buble’, & Barry Manilow.In 2011 he was hired as the Musical Director for the Opera “Gospel atColonus” with the Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh; and in 2012 hecomposed his first opera short for the Opera Theatre of Pittsburgh’sSummer Festival, “Bridal Suite”. In 2013 he composed his 2ndopera short “The Mayoral Suite” also for the Opera Theatre ofPittsburgh. In 2010 he was the Musical Director for the production of“Raising In The Sun” by The Kuntu Reportoire Theatre. Hired as theMusical Director in 2012 for the stage play “Who Do You Love” byNew York playwrite, Shaunda Miles of DeMaskus Productions.
