Back in 2008, the financial crisis was at its peak and had disastrous consequences; people were losing their job left and right. Financing was scarce on the market and entrepreneurs’ future became uncertain.Instead of recalling loans and pull out of the market, BDC had another approach: BDC offered principal postponement to ALL its clients. BDC had offered its clients to not pay! I was fresh out of school and starting my first “real” job. I was at the receiving end of the fax machine, filing all the incoming faxes from the entrepreneurs who needed a break and who had accepted BDC’s offer.Although the job description might not sound appealing, it showed me how much BDC cares about our clients and how’s it’s possible to get help when times are tough! This campaign was an inspiration to me, my filing job wasn’t just a mundane task anymore it became a contribution to aid Canadian businesses.
